Product Manager

As Product Manager, you will be responsible for increasing the profitability of existing products to developing new products for the company. You will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.

You must be able to communicate with all areas of the Workday business unit. You will work with business analysts from the development team to define release requirements. You will work with product marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.

Role Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for the Kainos Product Roadmap across multiple functional areas.  This will include the following responsibilities:
    • Analysis of market needs
    • Building solutions to address market problems
    • Pricing of feature add-on and/or new product modules
    • Launching features and modules with the support of the product marketing team
  • Capture and articulate requirements from the market:
    • Prospects
    • Existing Customers;
    • Smart Sales Team
    • Professional Services teams;
    • Internal Subject Matter Experts.
  • Be able to sustain relationships with technology partners;
  • Have previous experience as a product owner in an Agile software development environment
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of release acceptance criteria for each product feature, including the criteria for the minimal viable product.
  • Have a proven track record of working closely with business analysts product development leads/architects to advance functional and non-functional aspects of the product
  • Ability to identify and measure the success criteria for each delivered feature.
  • Have experience running beta and early adopter programs with customers/development partners
  • Flexibility to travel regularly to customer and partner locations worldwide

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working on, analysing, building, marketing, pricing and launching software products.

Essential Skills:

Excellent communication skills are vital.  You’ll need to be a persuasive and effective communicator with strong negotiating skills.  It’s not only about talking, you’ll need to be able to listen, understand, and build on other’s viewpoints.

You will need an eye for detail, particularly to interpret supplied information and understand sources and challenge where necessary.

  • The ability to facilitate team meetings and group conversations
  • Relevant commercial experience
  • A good understanding of technology, digital services and trends.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with the team and external stakeholders.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with Automated Testing Frameworks
  • Software Testing Experience

Other Information

Kainos is a professional services organisation with clients spread across the globe and we deliver projects both from client site, and from our offices. While we will attempt to base you on projects near or at your contracted office location, you need to be willing to travel to client sites and spend time away during the week if it is required.
